Branch of RSE "Kazhydromet" in Kostanay region (hereinafter – the Branch).
The full-time staff of the Branch is 199 units.
The total number of the observation network in the territory of Kostanay region is 90 meteorological, agrometeorological, hydrometeorological and environmental stations and posts, of which:
• Meteorological stations (MS) – 20 units, (11 of them with agrometeorological observations);
• Agrometeorological posts – 15 units;
• Hydrological posts – 26 units (24 of them river, 2 lake);
• Monitoring points for atmospheric air pollution – 8 units;
• Monitoring points for the state of atmospheric air – 10 units;
• Environmental manual posts – 2 units;
• Environmental automatic posts – 8 units;
• Environmental laboratories are mobile – 1 unit;
Branch activities
The main activity of the Branch is to ensure environmental monitoring, meteorological, agrometeorological and hydrological monitoring using the state observation network.
The main tasks of the Branch
• Ensuring and organizing the work of the continuous production activities of the monitoring network.
• Provision of state bodies and other interested persons with hydrometeorological information, as well as information on the state of the environment, actual and expected (predicted) changes in hydrometeorological conditions, and the state of environmental pollution.
• Maintaining a fund of data obtained as a result of environmental monitoring, meteorological and hydrological monitoring.
The Meteorological Observation Network conducts 8 urgent daily observations of air temperature, soil surface temperature and at depths, wind direction and speed, type and duration of atmospheric phenomena, type and number of clouds in points, precipitation, and atmospheric pressure monitoring.
