Within the framework of the 9th Joint Expert Seminar and the 13th meeting of the Working Group on Monitoring, Analysis and Assessment of the Quality of Waters of Transboundary Rivers of the Kazakh-Chinese Commission for Cooperation in the Field of Environmental Protection, Kazhydromet conducted an introductory tour for the delegation of the People's Republic of China.
During the visit, the guests got acquainted with the work of the national Hydrometeorological Service of Kazakhstan and visited the Hydrometeorological Center, where experts spoke about the process of preparing weather forecasts, round-the-clock monitoring of the hydrometeorological situation and modern technologies used in the analysis of weather processes.
The delegation also visited the laboratory, where they got acquainted with modern laboratory equipment, as well as methods of sampling and analyzing samples of surface waters and atmospheric air.
Another point of the tour was the Kazhydromet RSE Museum, where participants were told about the history of the formation of the hydrometeorological service of Kazakhstan and the development of the observation network.
Such meetings contribute to strengthening partnership relations between Kazakhstan and China and create the basis for further development of cooperation in the field of environmental protection.
