On September 24, 2025, Kazhydromet hosted a meeting within the framework of the GIZ international project "Management of Transboundary Climate and Disaster Risks in Central Asian Countries".
The project is
The aim of the project is to strengthen climate risk management and emergency preparedness in the region. The project is being implemented from 2022 to 2026 with the participation of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan and RSE Kazhydromet.
During the meeting, the results of the Assessment of climate risks in the Shu River basin, the improvement of hydrological modeling and early warning systems, as well as the development of regional dialogue platforms were discussed.

It was noted that the project contributes to strengthening cooperation for the participating countries of the region, improving the quality of monitoring of climatic and hydrological processes and training specialists in the field of adaptation to climate change.
