Kazhydromet held a working meeting with representatives of the Stockholm Convention Regional Center (RECETOX, Czech Republic). During the discussion, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in the framework of the implementation of the fourth stage of the Global Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPS) Monitoring Plan.
Special attention was paid to the issues of air and water sampling, data exchange, as well as technical cooperation between Kazhydromet and RECETOX. It was noted that the implementation of the project will provide new data on the level of POPS in Kazakhstan, fill in existing gaps, and strengthen scientific cooperation in the field of environmental protection.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to prepare for the start of monitoring activities and to develop a long-term partnership.
