Brief history of the first meteorological observations in the Kyzylorda region

The history of meteorological monitoring in the Kyzylorda region begins in 1848 with the opening of the Kazaly meteorological station. This is the first meteorological station on the territory of modern Kazakhstan.

The Kazaly weather station was under the jurisdiction of the military topographic society of the Turkestan military district.

In 1948, in honor of the centenary of the station, the station was awarded a certificate of honor by I. V. Stalin for its good and fruitful work.

And in 2005, the station's employees were awarded the WMO certificate of commendation for Geneva, Switzerland, in recognition of their services in conducting high-quality observations for the surface network.

In 1884. the opening of the weather station "Aral Tenizi" took place. The meteorological reference station "Aral Tenizi" has a long history. The station, which opened as an observation point, began to expand from the mid-1950s to 1998, and a hydrometeorological Observatory was formed.

Also, the Otto Schmidt vessel conducted hydrological observations of the Aral sea level, operated an aerological station, conducted all types of observations, and collaborated with scientific organizations.

Currently, in addition to the main ones, actinometric and ozone observations are being conducted.

In 1918, the Zhosaly meteorological station was opened.

1941 - hard-to-reach weather station "Shirik-Rabat".

1950 - meteorological station in the cityKyzylorda.

2011-Kyzylorda aerological station was opened.
