The staff of RSE Kazhydromet is deeply saddened to announce that on September 7, 2026, Igor Mikhailovich Malkovsky, an outstanding hydrologist, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Candidate of Technical Sciences, professor, academician of the Kazakhstan National Academy of Natural Sciences and the International Academy of Sciences of Ecology, Human Safety and Nature, twice a laureate, died at the age of 90. The State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of science and technology.
Igor Mikhailovich devoted many years to science and the study of Kazakhstan's water resources. His research has made a significant contribution to the development of Russian hydrology, the study of water bodies and issues of water safety.
