Taking into account the prevailing conditions of the autumn-winter period, moisture reserves in the meter-high soil layer are predicted by the beginning of the upcoming spring field work:

* Satisfactory conditions are observed in Aktobe, Abai, and most of West Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regions.;

* in Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, Akmola, Karaganda, East Kazakhstan, Almaty and Zhambyl regions from satisfactory to optimal in some areas;

* in the Zhetisu and Turkestan regions, they are mostly optimal.

At the same time, high temperatures in April will contribute to increased evaporation of moisture from the soil surface, which may lead to a local moisture deficiency in the arable soil layer.

Sowing of spring grain crops is recommended to be carried out mainly within the established climatic time limits:

* in West Kazakhstan, Aktobe, Karaganda, Abai regions in the first and second decade of May;

* in North Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Akmola, Pavlodar, and East Kazakhstan regions in the first to third decades of May;

* in Almaty and Zhetysu regions in the first and third decades of April;

* in Zhambyl region in the first and second decades of April,

* in the Turkestan region in the third decade of March, the first decade of April.
