An extensive anticyclone centered over Siberia will continue to keep frosty weather in the northern and eastern regions of Kazakhstan over the weekend. In the west and south of the republic, the weather will be determined by the southern cyclone and the atmospheric frontal sections associated with it. Adverse weather conditions are expected here in the form of precipitation (mainly in the form of snow), low-level snowstorms, increased wind to storm values, and icy conditions. Heavy precipitation is forecast in some areas of Turkestan, Zhambyl, and Almaty regions on January 17-18. With the beginning of the new week, another northwesterly cyclone will begin to shift to the north, northwest, and center of the republic, which will bring with it snow and a blizzard, as well as a gradual increase in temperatures in these regions. Fogs are expected in the republic.
