According to the advisory forecast, January is expected to be warm, the average monthly air temperature throughout the republic is projected to be 1-2 degrees above normal.
Monthly precipitation is forecast to be about normal in most of Kazakhstan, more than normal in Pavlodar region, most of North Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan, north Kostanay, northeastern Akmola, Karaganda and Abai regions, in the southern half of Almaty, Zhambyl, southeastern Turkestan region and the regions of Zhetisu.
During the month, snowfall with gusty winds, blizzards, fogs and ice will be replaced by clear frosty weather.
In the west of the country, at the beginning of the first decade, the air temperature is expected to drop at night to -10-18 °C, during the day to -5-12 °C. Then there is an increase in air temperature to slightly positive values.
In the north-west, north, and center of the country, air temperatures are forecast to fluctuate from -10-20°C to -3-8°C at night, and from -2-12°C to -5+3°C during the day.;
- in the east of the country at night from -2-13 °C to -10-18 °C, during the day from -6+2 to -2-10 °C;

In the second and third decades of the month, in the north, northwest, east and central regions of the country, during periods of invasion of cold air masses, air temperatures are forecast to drop to -25-35°C at night and to -15-20°C during the day.
