This issue of the annual hydrological bulletin contains basic information on river flow resources for eight water basins of the Republic of Kazakhstan as a whole, as well as for the main river basins and their sections for the period from the early 1930s to 2023. Data on the main characteristics of the spring flood are provided, including the timing of the beginning and end of the flood, its duration, maximum water consumption, layers and volumes of runoff, information on dangerous hydrological phenomena that occurred on water bodies during the year, as well as the parameters of the intraannual distribution of runoff of the main rivers during the period of anthropogenic influence.
Hydrological information plays a key role in ensuring the country's water security. It is necessary for water resources management, water use planning, prevention and minimization of the consequences of natural phenomena such as floods, droughts, floods and ice jams. Up-to-date and reliable hydrological information also serves as a scientific basis for assessing the impact of climate change on water resources, developing adaptation measures and sustainable development of the water management complex.
