On August 14-15, 2025, a meeting on "Early warning for all" for the countries of the South Caucasus and Kazakhstan was held in Helsinki with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland and the World Meteorological Organization.
The meeting was a continuation of the discussions that began in December 2023 in Geneva, and was devoted to the implementation of an early warning system for natural hazards in the region.
The event was attended by representatives of the national hydrometeorological services of Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. The participants shared their experience in monitoring and forecasting, presented initiatives and plans, discussed existing mechanisms for regional cooperation, and identified problems and needs for further cooperation.
Danara Kizatovna Alimbayeva, Director General of Kazhydromet RSE, presented Kazakhstan's experience in forecasting and early warning system development initiatives.
In addition, the Finnish Meteorological Institute shared practical developments in the field of meteorological data exchange.
