In order to ensure public access to environmental information about the state of the environment of Kazakhstan, Kazhydromet RSE developed the Air KZ mobile application for atmospheric air quality in 2018 and continues to develop and improve it. In 2025, changes were made to the application aimed at improving its information content and accuracy.
The updated version adds a component for displaying data on the polluting substance ozone (O₃) with visualization of indicators and color indication. Implemented a search function in the "Favorite posts" list with the ability to find a post by number, address or title. The search works incrementally, the results are updated as you type each letter.
The display of the user's location (geolocation) on an interactive map with an indication of the nearest observation posts has also been added.
The updated application, available from December 10, 2025, provides the public with up-to-date and accurate information about the state of the environment, contributing to the adoption of more informed decisions by the population aimed at preserving the environment and promoting health.
